Fair Trade Scotland Limited
Fair Trade Scotland has been set up as a Fair
Trade Import and Distribution Company, initially dealing with importing
sugar from Malawi and Zambia, and distributing to SMEs who wish to use Fair
Trade sugar. Fair Trade Scotland Limited is registered as a Limited
Company, by Guarantee, having NO charitable status. We believe that to be a
truly sustainable business you need to be profitable, and we intend to
reinvest our profits back into the Fair Trade movement. Increasing market share, in the UK, for small,
marginalized farmers is a key aim of our business and in line with the 10
WFTO Fair Trade Principles, which are embedded into our constitution along
with the Charter of Fair Trade Principles. We aim to encourage Scottish businesses to
embrace these principles, as part of their commitment to CSR procurement
policies on sustainable development, and to encourage companies/individuals
to work towards helping Scotland become a Fair Trade Nation. We are applying for membership of the World Fair
Trade Organisation (WFTO) of which Eve is currently an Associate Member. We are a Registered Importer and Distributor
